Three priorities for CPG suppliers in 2021

Consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies have had to adjust rapidly over the past year, in previously unimaginable ways.

This readjustment was a key topic at this year’s US-based CAGNY (Consumer Analyst Group of New York) event. More than 20 global CPG companies took part in the event. They provided insight into their plans and strategic priorities for 2021 and beyond.

From this, and recent results, we’ve identified three main supplier priorities for 2021, mapped onto a traditional flywheel:

  • Driving top line growth
  • Operating more efficiently
  • Reinvesting in the business

Below, I explore these in some more detail, and highlight examples of best-in-class suppliers who are leading the way.
