The hypermarket is a key format for Majid Al Futtaim (MAF), the operator of the Carrefour brand in the Middle East. The hypermarket, as in other countries, is coming under pressure in the UAE from smaller stores and so we visited a Carrefour hypermarket in Deira City to understand how MAF is evolving the format to make it relevant to today’s shoppers and how it is preparing it for the future.
