Price discounts become more prevalent, with some changes to "softer" rewards, as Booths aims to make its loyalty card more relevant to shoppers.
5% off 1000s of products
From 2nd September, Booths loyalty members will see their benefits change. The retailer is introducing 5% money back on thousands of products across the store, exclusively for card holders. The savings are stored on the Booths card, and once these tally to multiples of £5, shoppers receive a £5 voucher, distributed on a quarterly basis.
This shift towards monetary rewards is similar to the Morrisons More points based system, where shoppers are rewarded with Morrisons' "Fivers". The vouchers are likely to resonate well at a time when household finances are under pressure.
Changes to free newspapers and drinks
Booths card holders must now spend £25 (up from £15) to qualify for a free weekend newspaper.
Hospitality remains part of the proposition, with members receiving a treat in the cafe during their birthday week, as well as other exclusive deals.
However, half price drinks in the cafe, and free takeaway hot drinks will no longer be included.
