Bidfood targets B2C with national roll-out

Faced with the disruption of the renewed lockdown for much of the run-up to the key Christmas trading season, major UK foodservice wholesaler, Bidfood has renewed its drive into consumer-focused business with the launch of its new ‘Bidfood at Home’ shopping platform.

Extends operation first launched in March

Having first launched a B2C service in March, the new Bidfood at Home platforms consolidates and extends its consumer offer, providing shoppers with  dedicated, more user-friendly portal with access to a curated range of 3,000 lines from its catering focused proposition, including alcohol.  The site also offers meal-ideas and inspiration for shoppers, providing access to professional ingredients and recipes to enable shoppers to create the out-of-home experience at home.

Free delivery through remainder of 2020

As well as offering click and collect from many of its depot sites, with no minimum spend requirement, Bidfood is also offering free home delivery on all orders over £40 for the rest of the year.  With delivery slots likely to be in short supply amongst the mainstream grocers in the run-up to Christmas, it will be hoped that shoppers will look to the Bidfood service especially for bulk and differentiated items to help them celebrate the festive season.
