The new concept was built using the latest trends in interior architecture and design, as well as the evolution of consumer expectations since the banner's last update five years ago. At the same time, the store remains focused on low prices. The new store concept is embedded in the needs of the city-based shopper, and it illustrates a significant move away from the standard store format that is typically found in suburban and rural locations.

Poundland is looking to move further away from its dependency on the one price point, grow its range and satisfy more shopper needs. A first look at the rapidly growing Danish variety discounter’s first store in France. Normal focuses on health and beauty products with a strategy of everyday low prices and no promotional offers. The range includes mainly branded products sold at prices up to 50% cheaper than the market.

We visited Wilko’s newly opened store in Acton, North West London. At 10,500 sq ft it is smaller than the retailers standard store. Expansion in London is a priority for the retailer and adapting the core proposition to fit into smaller sites is key to that expansion.
