Amazon has rolled out its Prime membership service in Turkey, as it looks to further develop its offer in the market.

Increasing loyalty

Amazon launched in Turkey in 2018, offering products across a range of categories including electronics, personal care, baby, home, computer and office, and books. Amazon has now launched its Prime membership service in the market, giving customers access to a number of benefits including free next day delivery and access to entertaining content. Free same day delivery is also available for orders over TRY50 in Istanbul, Bursa and Kocaeli. Prime members also receive early access to selected deals, as well as exclusive deals.

Gaining new Prime members is a key part of Amazon’s strategy. It is seen as a strategic pillar of the business, along with Marketplace and Amazon Web Services. Amazon Prime enables the retailer to attract new customers, lock-in loyalty, and drive frequency of shop. Prime members will also typically spend more than a non-member.
