Announcing preliminary full year results for the 53 weeks ending 30 June 2013, South Africa-based Woolworths said that sales rose by 23.2% to ZAR35.2 billion (US$3.6 billion). South Africa's leading grocery retailer, Shoprite, has reported turnover growth of 12.1% for the 12 months to June 2013, in its preliminary trading update.
